Bella Syslo
Bella is from Omaha, NE and began working at Reactor Coffee in August of 2022, just a couple of months after the shop celebrated its first year of being open. Bella is Reactor Coffees second employee and has already added so much to the community that Reactor Coffee has.
What does Reactor Coffee mean to you?
“Reactor Coffee means a multitude of things, but to me, it means creativity, freedom, fun, community, and growth."
Do you try to build relationships with new/returning customers?
"I think Reactor is exceptional at customer relationships in the way that none of us really have a filter when it comes to old or new customers."
What do you enjoy about working in a small business?
“I feel like since Reactor's team is so small, we are each able to be really creative and free to do whatever makes sense for us as a brand and as a business”
When did you join the Reactor Coffee team?
"I joined at the end of August of this year, so I’ve been with Reactor for about 2 months."
How did you discover the opportunity to work here?
"I had been into the store a couple of times prior and always loved my experience, so when my friend sent me an Instagram post saying that they were hiring, it made perfect sense since I had some coffee experience and was looking for a job this semester."
What has been your favorite thing about working at Reactor Coffee?
"I love the community that Reactor has built with its customer base. I love being on a first name basis with customers and being able to joke around and have fun at work. I also love doing my contribution to our Instagram, which is my weekly Reel showcasing our experiment of the week."
What attitudes do you bring to work everyday to ensure Reactor Coffee functions properly?
"Everyday, I show up to Reactor with an attitude of flexibility and positivity because things are constantly changing in the workplace. For example, we could run out of a syrup we use to make the experiment, but we talk, regroup, and adapt as necessary. Also, positivity is a great skill to use in Reactor because it makes all the difference in talking with customers and creating a welcoming environment."
